A Guide to Shopping Amazon’s Best Storefronts

We’re always looking for new ways to shop smarter online and that includes navigating the labyrinth of infinite digital aisles at Amazon, from using AmazonSmile to donate money for causes to getting the most out of your Prime membership. (Did you know there are Prime discounts just for students?!) In addition to cool perks, there are so many secret pages and mini storefronts within Amazon that people don’t know about. If you don’t check these spots first, you’ll miss out on flash coupons, manufacturer deals and big, big savings. We’ve rounded up the top 15 Amazon storefronts to help you shop Amazon better, from stocking up on cheap household items to finding the best deals on electronics. Plus, there’s even a page devoted to trending home decor that we have to talk about. Check out these pages below and start shopping Amazon smarter.

Calling all coupon clippers! Amazon has TONS of digital coupons and all you have to do is click a little green box. Always, always check this page first so you know you’re getting the best price. Coupons range from a flat 30 percent off to a couple of bucks automatically taken off the price in your cart. You can also save with coupons for subscription orders. This is handy for items you know you’ll be buying on a regular basis such as laundry detergent or diapers.

Amazon Prime members often see better prices than non-members, but there’s another way to save on electronics, homewares, appliances and more. Amazon Outlet is kind of like the front dollar section of Target mixed with that random clearance aisle in the back of TJ Maxx peppered with a little bit of Best Buy Black Friday sales. These products are brand-new, have never been opened and are massively discounted (up to 80 percent off!). It’s a good rule of thumb to check this page first before doing a general search as you might find exactly what you’re looking for already on sale. There’s even an under $10 section!

When merchandise is returned to Amazon, it’s automatically marked as used. Even if the product was never opened! And people return items to Amazon all the time. Maybe they didn’t like the color. Maybe they no longer need it. So, Amazon ends up with a huge collection of brand-new items, from electronics to appliances to furniture, that’s considered “used.” Enter Amazon Warehouse. This is a store devoted to all the new, used merchandise. It’s certified and discounted, and it’s a great way to save 10-20 percent on something you would have unknowingly ordered for full price.

Part of the Amazon Second Chance initiative for sustainability, Amazon Renewed is a page for refurbished merchandise. It’s kind of like Amazon Warehouse, but the prices are a lot less because unlike returned items at Amazon Warehouse, items on Amazon Renewed have some wear and tear. But they’re certified and functional and popular brand names you know and love, from laptops to power tools. They just don’t look new. For example, you can find some seriously low prices on kitchen countertop appliances here. They just might have scratches and dings, but for something like lawn equipment, who cares! Your pressure washer doesn’t need to be pretty. And items like this are going to get banged up anyway.

Prime Day kind of happens every day on Amazon, but on a much smaller scale. The Today’s Deals page is packed with flash discounts on everything from tech to towels. These are Black Friday-level prices, but once the 24 hours are up or the item sells out, the deals are gone.

Beyond flash sales, there are some Amazon in-house brands to know about when shopping for common household items. AmazonBasics ranges from cheaper alternatives for small things such as light bulbs and batteries to larger home office furniture and even travel gear.

Solimo is kind of like Target’s generic brand Up & Up. You can find everything from dental picks to coffee K cups. The prices for paper goods such as toilet paper and paper towels or plastic items like trash bags are sometimes cheaper than bulk buys at Costco or Sam’s Club. It’s a good idea to price out items here first before going on a grocery run.

Did you know you can sync your prescriptions through Amazon? Prime members get free, two-day shipping just like any other order, but the big draw here is the savings — up to 80 percent off!

If shopping for Whole Foods deliveries isn’t possible in your area, you still might be able to order through Amazon Fresh. This grocery delivery service has daily deals on everything from organic produce to kid snacks in bulk, and Prime members get free delivery. Amazon Fresh has its own coupon page, too, with discounts on everything from ground coffee to Lysol wipes.

Home essentials aside, sometimes you just want to treat yourself. If you’re on the hunt for new home decor, you have to check out #FoundItOnAmazon. This page is powered by Amazon influencers shopping 24/7 for that Insta-worthy, trendy item, from design dupes to throws and pillows under $50.

We talk about Amazon Handmade a lot in our shopping stories because it’s our favorite Amazon storefront. The site within a site is a lot like Etsy in that it’s devoted to small businesses and makers across the country. It’s the place to shop for gifts any time of year, from the holidays to hostess gifts.

Did you know that Amazon has a posh designer boutique? Yes, really. Amazon Luxury is kind of like a mini Bloomingdale’s or Saks with top labels, such as Oscar de Renta and Missoni, just one click away. It’s mostly fashion, but you can find several home decor accessories, from candles to bath towels.

Ever wonder what the most-ordered household item is on Amazon? (Right now, it’s batteries.) You can see for yourself in real-time on the Amazon Best Sellers page. This site is devoted to the best of the best. It’s updated hourly and touts the most popular items in all kinds of categories, from kitchenware to outdoor gear to pet supplies.

Amazon Most Wished For is kind of like Best Sellers in popularity, but unlike Best Sellers, this page features items that people haven’t purchased but really, really want. It’s a great place to see what’s trending in different categories and get gift ideas for the holidays.

And speaking of gifts, Amazon has a special site just for presents. You can refine by age and price to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. You can even order gift wrap, too!
