22 Cute Doormats for Welcoming Spring

Spring is finally here! And even though it’s time for cleaning and organizing, make sure your outdoor spaces get a refresh, too. One of the easiest ways to do that is with a new doormat. We’ve rounded up our favorite doormats — most under $50! — that are perfect for spring, from bold florals to natural woven rugs. Take a look at our top picks below and accessorize your front door with a new mat.

Spring is the season for florals, from retro-style daisies to traditional, chinoiserie-inspired cherry blossoms. And if you’re looking for a front doormat that will transition from spring to summer, this English lavender mat is perfect as the flower itself blooms from late spring to July.

Fruit is another fun theme for outdoor spring decor. Strawberries are perfect as they’re in peak season, and even though lemons are year-round in the US and cherries are a summer fruit, they work really well for both seasons and transition well from spring to summer.

If bright pink florals or whimsical fruit motifs don’t fit your style, there are still tons of playful and cute mats in natural, earth tones. Ruggable recently launched a two-piece doormat system that includes a rubber mat and rug cover, available in several modern neutral designs, like this classic plaid. While these are a bit pricier, the rug cover is actually removable and, like the rest of Ruggable’s rugs, machine washable. Plus, since these don’t feature coir fibers, Ruggable’s doormats won’t shed or need replacing every year or two; they’re built to last. For something more affordable, try a simple woven mat or a classic coir doormat with cute graphic dots or dashes for something a little more playful. We also love this Geo Flower Doormat from Anthropologie! The Matisse-esque design is on-trend, but the neutral colors mean you can leave it out for years to come.

We love a good pun, especially in wall art and rugs. I always chuckle when I see this “Shut the Front Door” mat from West Elm. And this “Hello Sunshine” rug from Rifle Paper Co. is indoor/outdoor which makes it perfect for a patio or entryway. For something less cheeky and more meaningful, I love this “You Look Good” mat from Target. And for something completely customizable, you can create your own word art with the Letterfolk vinyl tile mat.
